Our location at the FMT2 HE data center is LIVE! We’ve turned up the new POP with a Mikrotik 2004 running 7.1.1 (at time of deployment), which terminates the ZeroTier Backbone circuits itself. This is the first non-FRR location, and it did come with some trade-offs. While Mikrotik has produced a stable BGP stack, the rest of the network is currently running IS-IS with SRv6. This location is unable to participate, so we had to do what many ISPs are forced to do: redistribute OSPF. This is less than ideal, but not unusual. The SRv6 implementation seems to “just work” although we have Not done a lot of testing as of yet.

We are still looking for partners to host our project! A European location, and site in New Zealand would be ideal, but we’ll take just about anyone willing to transit AS19625. If you’re interested and can host an ubuntu VM, a Mikrotik RouterOS box and transit our ASN, let us know!
